０００１話『誕生（たんじょう）』｢be born｣

人間の本位『誕生』
1982年。大阪に一人の青年が誕生した。
名を「上野 真」（うえの しん）と言う。
（※年代は青年が創価学会に入信した年です）
どんなことが起こっても真心を貫くように両親から「真」と名づけられた。
高校三年生のとき、彼は大学受験に失敗した。
父親は頑固で仕事も鉄鋼所で働いていた。
真に公立大学でないと授業費を出してやらない。そう言っていた。
真はお金を気にしていたのではない。
ふと高校受験の時を思い出す。
父親は、高校受験まで真に一生懸命に勉強を教えた。
特に数学を教わったのは思い出深い。
父は厳しかった。
小学校の時、正座して泣きながら漢字をノート一杯書き写していたのを思えている。
真は、忘れないし悔しかった。
しかし、その時、真は若かった。父親が憎かった。真の心には、高校を合格し父親を見返してやりたい。
その心しかなかった。
（※真心（まごころ）：偽りや飾りのない心。真剣に尽くす心）
父を見返したかった。
私立の仏教系の高校を受験したが合格はしなかった。
仏教に縁がないのかと思った。
友達は真なら必ず合格すると言ってくれた。
帰り道で答え合わせをしてるとき、友達は「俺が間違ってる 真が正しい」と言ってくれた。
しかし、真は合格出来なかった。
友達は、その附属の一ランク上の学校に合格した。
そのため真は公立高校の志望校を一ランク下げることになった。
公立高校の受験は上手くいった。
実力どおりに結果を出すことが出来た。
合格した日に父親を殴りたかった。
でも、父の喜ぶ声で何も言えず父の行為を納得した。
高校生に成ると、父は干渉するのをやめた。
真は自由を手に入れて嬉しかった。
大学受験では、共通一次試験（マーク方式）が初めて実施された。
公立の大学を２校受験したが受からなかった。
理学部を志望していた。
その理由は、そのころ流行っていた雑紙プレーボーイの小説に名古屋大学の電子工学部の生徒が主人公で出てたからである。
何となく電子工学部に入りたかった。
しかし、大学に落ちた。
予備校に夜間通っていたので過去の問題は難なく解けたが、基本の公式の使用の仕方を理解していなかった。
そのため新しい問題に真の知識はついていけなかった。
大学に落ちて、どうしょうか考えていたとき、サンケイ新聞の奨学生の記事が目に入った。
その奨学生制度を利用して入学できる学校に「大阪電子専門学校」があった。
真は小さいころ工作が好きで、
ゴジラ、モスラ、キングギドラなどを方眼紙で作っていた。
なんの関係もないが工作が好きだった。
コンピュータで何かを作って見たかったのかもしれない。
これからは「コンピュータの仕事が重要になる」「今後の時代はコンピュータだ」と思った。
しかし、流行を追っていたわけではない。
ファションとかは疎（うと）かったがコンピュータには興味があった。
早く仕事内容を覚え働けば、それだけ後から入社す人より優位な立場につける。
即戦力になる専門学校を選んだのは、その理由からである。
浪人する道もあった。
かくして新聞配達をしながら専門学校に通う日々が続く。
苦学生は学校の先生にも優遇された。
遅刻しても「遅れても来るのは偉い」とさえ言ってくれた。
筆者は、そのことを話したい訳ではないが、ただ少し彼（上野 真）の生い立ちを知って欲しかっただけである。

His father had told Shin that he would not pay for his tuition unless it was a public university.
Shin wasn't worried about money.
He suddenly remembered the time when he took the high school entrance exam.
His father taught him really hard until he passed the high school entrance exam.
He especially remembers that he was taught mathematics.
His father was strict.
He remembers when he was in elementary school, sitting straight and crying as he copied out kanji in a notebook.
Shin will never forget it and was frustrated.
But at that time, he was really young. He hated his father. In his heart, he wants to pass high school and see his father again.
That was the only emotion he had.

He wanted to make his father regret it.
He took the entrance exam for a private Buddhist high school, but did not pass.
He wondered if he had no connection to Buddhism.
His friends told him that Shin would definitely pass the exam.
When he was checking his answers on the way home, his friend told him, ``I'm wrong, and Shin is right.''
However, Shin was unable to pass.
His friend was accepted into a school one rank higher than that affiliated school.
As a result, Shin decided to lower his choice of public high school by one rank.
The entrance exam for a public high school went well.
He was able to get results according to his ability.
He wanted to punch his father the day he passed the exam.
But he couldn't say anything and accepted his father's actions because of his father's joyful voice.
Once he entered high school, his father stopped interfering.
Shin was glad to have freedom.
For university entrance examinations, a common primary examination (mark system) was implemented for the first time.
He applied to two public universities but was not accepted.
He wanted to go to the Faculty of Science.
The reason for this was that a student from the electrical engineering department at Nagoya University was the main character in a novel published in Playboy, which was popular at the time.
He somehow wanted to enter the electronic engineering department.
However, he failed university.
Since he attended a prep school at night, he was able to solve past problems without difficulty, but he did not understand how to use the basic formulas.
Therefore, he could not keep up with Shin's knowledge on new problems.
When he was thinking about what to do after failing university, he saw an article about scholarship recipients in the Sankei newspaper.
One of the schools that students could enter using the scholarship system was Osaka Electronics College.
Shin loved crafts when he was little.
He made Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, etc. out of graph paper.
He had nothing to do with it, but he liked crafting.
Maybe he wanted to create something on the computer.
From now on, he thought, ``computer work will become important'' and ``computers will play a leading role in the future.''
But he wasn't following trends.
He didn't know anything about fashion, but he was interested in computers.
He thought that the sooner he learned the job details and started working, the more he would be in an advantageous position over those who joined the company later.
It was for this reason that he chose a vocational school where he could immediately work.
He also had the option of becoming a ronin.
In this way, he continued to attend vocational school while delivering newspapers.
Struggling students were also given preferential treatment by their school teachers.
Even when he was late, his teacher even told him, ``It's great that you're coming even if you're late.''
