「うん。あなたがこの世界で目を覚ますまで、ずっと見守っていたよ」

「みんなって……？」

「みんなって、みんなだよ。ほら」

白いうさぎがうながすと、月の真珠貝が身体を揺らしました。 まるで微笑んでいるようでした。

『私はきみの両親であり、友だちでもあった魂』

そのときうさぎは、本当の意味で悟りました。 自分は死んでしまっても、その瞬間から、いえ、もっとずっと前から、見守られていたのだと。 みんなそばにいたのだと──。

「もう、みんなずっと一緒だよ」

『みんな、ずっといる』

うさぎはまた、涙を流しました。 ぽろぽろと流れる涙は、ふしぎとあたたかなものでした。

うさぎの不思議な夢の旅は、こうして終わりを迎えました。 いまは、みんなと一緒にいます。 うさぎはもう、独りではありません。
