There are four exits.

墓石は、彼らが良く見ると、ただ石であった。
歪いびつに欠けてた石もある。
形は様々だ。
ただ、それらの石は規則正しい間隔で整列してあった。
それらの石は中心に行くほど大きく古く成っていく。
３人は中央についた。
中央に置かれている石は、美しく磨かれていた。
この石だけは、規則正しい５角形の形をしている。

「やっぱり守られてるのよ」エジェは発言した。
「確かに荒らされてない」メンディアもその言葉に付け足した。
裕也は、遺跡を良く見て言った。
「文字が刻まれてるね。
　なんか古い文字。
　エジェ。読める？」
エジェは、読んだ。
「古の文字。
　でも、読める。
　アクティスとサンディアの主の街」
裕也は、驚いた。
（サンディア！
　俺が合体した俺の守護神の名前）
エジェは、遺跡の下をよく見て言った。
「石板がある」
砂に石板が隠れている。
エジェは、その砂を払った。
遺跡の五角柱の根元には、緑の石版があり、その緑石板には木の蔓つるが描かれていた。
その蔓は中央から四方に伸びている。
メンディアは、慌あわてて言った。
「あ！　
　私の家に代々伝わる本の印に似てる。
　この蔓は、力の流れを現すのよ。」
エジェは、それを聞いて驚いて言った。
「うそ！
　私の家にも有るよ。
　その紋章の本」
二人は目を見詰め合った。
裕也が遮さえぎるように言う。
「手型が二つ」
緑石盤の中央には手の型をした窪くぼみが２たつ並んでいた。
「左手だね両方」
「二人とも左手を置いてみて」
エジェは左側、メンディアは右側に並んだ。
「裕也の手についた位置がいいね」
二人は手を置いた。
「エジェ。夢で何か唱えた？」
「分からない」エジェは答えた。
３人は考えていたが思いつかない。
（なにも起こらない？）と思ったとき。
突然。
蔓から青光と白光が流れ出す。
５角柱の正面でぶつかる。
光の炎は中央で噴出す。
やがて、真ん中で５角柱に吸い込まれていく。
青白い光の炎りは次第におさまり。
光を失い。深い闇が開く。


－－魔族の誤解⑪－闇のお出迎え－－

５角柱に闇の門が現れた。
裕也は、みんなに合図した。「行くよ」
３人は手をつないだ。彼らの手は汗ばんでいる。
そして、門の前に立つ。
裕也は片方の足を恐る恐る忍ばせる。
「ひんやりする」
足を踏みしめる。
「大丈夫。硬い床があるみたい」
３人は一歩一歩踏み出した。
彼らは暗闇の中へ入った。それは、憎悪が生まれ来る場所なのか？

彼らを冷たい空気が包む。
「向こうの方が少し明るく見える」
裕也は、何かを言わずに入れなかった。
「とりあえず前に進みましょう」
メンディアは言う。彼女には覚悟があった。
足を踏みしめると、確かにこの空間が現実のものであることを示していた。

エジェは、裕也に尋ねた。
「ライターを点けてみたの？」
「やってみたけどだめ」
裕也も試してみたのである。
しかたなく、彼らは奥へ奥へ進んだ。
だんだん、空気が変わる。
「生臭くなってきたね」裕也は言う。
「悪魔の本拠地だからね」メンディアが答える。
「誰かが肉でも食べたのよ。
　みんな食べるでしょ」エジェは、この土地をフォローした。

空気の重みが増していく。
そして、急に明るくなる。
「あ」
「ギャー！」
３人の目の前には、悪魔が目を見開き、口を開け襲い掛かろうとしていた。

メンディアは目を伏せ裕也の背中にしがみつく。
裕也とエジェは像を睨にらみ付け立ち尽くす。
数秒経った。悪魔は、その形のまま動かなかった。
「大丈夫。ただの像みたい」裕也は安心した。
「ここは広場ね。」エジェは辺りを見渡して言う。

像は壇上に立っており、その前には水が溢れ出す杯壇はいだんがあった。
彼らの足元は、岩肌が見えていた。少し土らしき砂が所々あった。
出口が四つある。

「ごぉお！ごぉお！ごぉお」

その四っの出口、いや、入り口から呻うめき声が近づいてくる。

像が話しかける。
「裕也。ミディアムにようこそ。
　エジェ。ごくろう」

彼らの周りは、大炎たいまつを持つ獣に囲まれていた。
